Construction

MDOT's Ancillary Structures Program is responsible for the inspection of newly installed assets on construction projects prior to the project being accepted by MDOT. The purpose of these inspections is to ensure the assets were installed in general conformance with the project plans and specifications, establish a baseline condition rating, and add them to the inventory. The assets that receive this inspection are cantilever sign structures, truss sign structures, mast arms, DMS support structures, frangible and non-frangible light poles, high mast lighting towers, and ESS towers.
